Unique bowl hand turned from Spalted Tamarind makes a perfect wedding, birthday, anniversary, Mother’s Day or holiday gift.
Spalted Tamarind comes from South East Asia. The decay/spalting gives the wood awesome spiderweb type patterns that add character and excitement to its appearance. The spalting is most prevalent in the sapwood which is prone to attack from bugs and fungus which cause it. Due to the nature of the wood there could be some imperfections.
The bowl measures approximately 5-3/4″ across by 3″ high.
This bowl is food safe and can be used in the kitchen. Just treat it as you would a cutting board and keep it clean and conditioned. Also, even though it’s food safe, that doesn’t mean the kitchen is the only place for it. This bowl could easily add texture and warmth to any space in your home.
Because our pieces are turned and finished by hand, some roughness in the finish should be expected.
